My evil character contribution to the Versus Evil trading card deck from Hireillo. Iubhair steals and imprisons in the Mrtis realm the soul of any creature it touches. Guided by the raven on every new moon, Iubhair's essence migrates from one yew tree (the tree of death) to another.
Background
I've developed a fascination with yew trees in the last couple of years so it was cool to use it as inspiration for my Versus Evil trading card. Iubhair means yew in Scottish Gaelic. It is referred to as the tree of death because of its toxic leaves and bark, and because it is commonly found in graveyards. At the same time, the tree is also regenerative and can live to be thousands of years old. The Yew supports many different species and still lives on when the raven no longer nests in its branches and humans return to the soil beneath its roots. Iubhair can be considered evil but it is also does a lot of good.
